Welcome to our newest parishioner, Edwin Glowacki. Son of Matthew and Brooke, Edwin was baptized at Christ the King church on September 20, 2020. May the grace of God’s goodness always cover Edwin with protection and fill him with a love of Christ and a will to do God’s work.

Please look under the “Faith Formation” tab to find the videos of our Faith Formation programming. For now, we are only meeting in person for our Adult Meetings. Please contact Julie Gould at 231-937-5757 or faithformation@ctknsf.org to register and to obtain the parent guide and children’s activity workbook.

HOME PLATE is an annual outreach event held at Comerica Park at which current and former members of the Detroit Tigers, along with other professional athletes, share about their careers as professional athletes and their faith in Jesus Christ. Due to Covid, this year’s event was cancelled. However, this event has happened every year since 1987! We’re not about to let it go. Here is a link to an archived recording of this year’s online event. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKnP9XTBPXU&feature=youtu.be We hope you will watch this so you can see how amazing it is. Then imagine it in person followed by an on-field clinic AND a Tigers game! It really is a fun and meaningful, family-friendly day. We hope it can return to an in-person event in 2021.

Celia was the last of this year’s CTKSF Faith Formation class members to make their First Communion. She made it with her academic class at St. Mary’s earlier in the month, but she celebrated with her parish family, too, on Sunday August 30th. Congratulations, Celia, and may Christ fill you with graces with each reception of His body.

Save the date! Saturday, September 26, 2020, the Diocese of Grand Rapids is offering a Diocesan Assembly. Previously known as the Catechetical Conference which occurred at West Catholic High School in Grand Rapids, this year the conference is going online! There will still be many great speakers, combined with prayer, study, and fellowship to help us grow in understanding our faith and in our relationship with the Lord. While it is free (usual cost was $80/person) you do need to register. To do that go to https://grdiocese.org/diocesan-assembly/

It’s Back! The Knights of Columbus will be holding a take out pancake breakfast on Sunday August 23. Due to Covid Restrictions the menu is limited. Order forms will be available in the Narthex next week. We appreciate your understanding during this challenging time. We look forward to seeing you next week!

Janna May joined our faith community on Wednesday, August 12th as she received the Sacrament of Baptism. We celebrate with her and her family, parents Tarryn and Nanette, and siblings Luxanna and Garren. Her godparents, also pictured, will help guide her on her faith journey. Congratulations and may God’s blessings abound!

Welcome to the parish, Slaten Jordan, son of Nick and Sarah Jordan. As we welcome him into our faith, we pray that God’s graces fill his life with blessings.

Emma made her First Communion on Sunday, July 26, 2020.
